Perfect Time of Year

This is my favorite time of year in Shanghai.  It is cool but not cold, and the light comes in at fantastic angles all day long.

Over the weekend, I had a little time to take a bike ride around the southwestern part of the city.  The day was perfect, and there were lots of serious cyclists out on the roads with the rest of us.  It was a great way to spend an autumn morning.

wish we could have cycled together this weekend, either your place or mine! glad you are healthy enough to enjoy a bike ride now!

It would have been fun. But cycling here is different, very much city cycling — on the roads (in a bicycle lane) with lots of traffic lights. I don't even use a bike with gears because 1) you don't really need them, and 2) it's almost sure to get stolen.
